Power of Hormones

Image
Many people don’t realize just how much hormones affect the way we feel and how our bodies function. Hormones control so many functions! You’re probably heard of cortisol, the stress hormone. Hormones also control how quickly we burn calories, our libido, acne, hair loss, weight, moods, and much more. A hormone imbalance can lead to symptoms that feel like depression (or is depression), iron or other deficiency, exhaustion, and poor health. We need the right balance to function properly. A loose analogy would be putting the wrong type of oil and gas into your vehicle. It might run, but poorly, so you might not realize what the problem is. Many people have heard that a thyroid imbalance can cause weight gain and other problems, so let’s go over two other imbalances that you may not be aware of. Adrenal Imbalance We have two adrenal glands. The adrenal cortex releases hormones that are necessary for us to live. The adren...

fat burners pt. 2

Image
Nutratherm is a stimulant free fat burner that is taken twice a day. For me, I have no trouble taking this right before bed and falling asleep right away. Others may have a problem as it does have Green Coffee Extract in it. This takes time to work so do not expect rapid loss with this. Be patient, eat healthy and excercise. Have an Access bar 15 minutes before each excercise and you'll see eventually see a difference. Let me know if you have any questions.

fat burners part 1

Let's talk about fat burners . . . Your body is programmed to store fat. It’s a survival instinct. When you exercise, a natural fat guard called adenosine is released. Adenosine slows fat burning. It saps energy. And it reduces muscle power.Your body is programmed to store fat. It’s a survival instinct. When you exercise, a natural fat guard called adenosine is released. Adenosine slows fat burning. It saps energy. And it reduces muscle power. This product, called Access, blocks the Adenosine, which helps the body get into fat burning mode. I use this product before a workout, I eat one delicious bar 15 minutes before the gym. I notice increased energy everytime. This product comes in bar and shake form. The bars come in multiple different flavors and are priced at $15.49 wholesale and $22.50 retail for 10 bars. The shakes are $17.49 for 14 servings. melaleuca.com/elizabethcowell

What about vitamins?

Image
I have been taking vitamins and supplements off and on since I was about 20 years old. I was never consistent with it, I switched brands quite often and I never knew what I was supposed to take. In other words, was a multivitamin enough? Did I need to take something else? Was it even doing anything? For most of my adult life, taking vitamins were not a huge priority for me.  It was not until about 3 years ago that I started taking vitamins regularly. I first started looking into plant-based multivitamins, then I added probiotics, and then fish oil and then turmeric, and then biotin. I still did not notice that much of a difference in my health. Last year, my chiropractor told me to not take vitamins from the drug store or GNC because not much would be absorbed into the body. He said that I should get my vitamins from a health food store, such as Sprouts or Whole Foods. So I started buying cheapest vitamins I could find at Sprouts, which they happen to sell in other stores too. I no...

Do you suffer from eczema or dry skin?

Image
One thing about me is I am not the greatest at remembering to put on lotion. I have had Victoria Secret and Bath and Body Works lotion gifted to me over 10 years ago and I have only used up half of it. That is how bad I am at remember to put on lotion. When I got my hands on Renew, it was a game changer. I always remember to use it. In fact I gave away almost all my scented lotions because Renew was the only lotion I wanted to use. It has worked wonders for my dry, itchy skin. And I havee seen before and after photos of people who have eczema, it cleared their skin. I have seen before and after photos of people who used on their babies. It truly is an amazing product and I will never use anything else. There are no synthetic fragrances, the scent is not over powering at all. I'm not sure what else to say about this product, other than you need to try it. It is not sticky, it absorbs into the skin really quickly, it's a great product. melaleuca.com/elizabethcowell

better and cheaper

In one of my previous posts, I shared how much I love soda but to be honest, I love any sweet beverage. I love the taste and bubbles in soda and I love the taste and different varieties of gatorade. I know neither one is healthy. So I recently tried something that will give me the best of both worlds. It's called Sustain, and gives you the flavor of gatorade (sort of). Flavors are: Ruby Red Grapefruit, Orange Splash, Lemon Blast, Lemon-Lime, and Raspberry Lemonade. It comes in a big jar for at home use or in a box with individual packets for using on the go. What I do, is I mix it with La Croix, and it is delicious. Personally, I love the Ruby Red Grapefruit Sustain with the Coconut La Croix. I get the bubbles and a little sweetness without the added sugar. And it works like Gatorade by restoring electrolytes, but after doing the math - it turns out to be cheaper than Gatorade.   melaleuca.com/elizabethcowell

facial cleansers

Anyone who knows me knows I am love makeup and skin care products. I have a few different drawers full of skin care products and even more drawers full of makeup products. I was searching my skin care drawers, I noticed I did not have any cleansers in there. For years, I have been using and loving the Mary Kay timewise 3-in-1 cleanser (it cleanses, tones, and gently exfoliates). I loved it because it saved time and steps, but I did not think it cleaned my face better than anything I've used. For days, I have been debating on whether I should repurchase the Mary Kay cleanser or buy one from the online wellness store I have been shopping at. As I was trying to back this decision, I heard about an app called "Think Dirty" which rates products based on how many toxic ingredients it has in it and it tells what the ingredients are and what they do. I was told by the people who introduced me to Mary Kay that there are no harsh chemicals in the products. So, I was pretty surpri...
